British army birth in Ceylon
Posted by: Niall McMahon (ID *****6974) Date: March 13, 2010 at 13:37:35

I have a record of someone who was born in Trincomalee in Ceylon, although he was British. He was in the Royal Garrison Artillery (part of the British Army at the time) so I am assuming his father was also in some kind of armed forces, and was stationed in Ceylon at the time of his son's birth.

His name was John Reardon and he was born in 1870. Does anyone know where I can find out more about this birth - are their any records of births in Ceylon for soldiers in the British Army?

Thanks,

Niall
