Hi there,
I am looking for any information regarding the Jayasinghe family who were coconut plantation owners in Ratnepura.
My grandfather, Don Frederick Jayasinghe, left Sri Lanka in 1926 and ran away to Singapore, where he became a tailor for H.B. Winter. His father's name was Muhoti Mahundaram Jayasinghe while his mother was Roslin Hamu. His maternal grandparents were Don John Manapure Appuhamy and Donna Ingeltene Alwis Guneratne. My grandfather moved to Pannadura with his mom and 2 male siblings after his father's death. There is obviously some Portuguese or Spanish ancestry there.
Any information at all would be extremely appreciated!
