I have found that my 3x's great grandmother Alicia Staples (Swift) Mathias died in Celyon (Sri Lanka) sometime between 1859 and 1861. She was married to John Alexander Stewart Mathias who was Archdeacon of Colombo for the Church of England at Christ Church Colombo from 1852 until 1861. Alicia died in Colombo which resulted in her husband becoming distraught to the point he returned to England. I would love to have any information on her place of burial, date of death etc. Or if anyone could tell me how to obtain this information via Canada I would appreciated all help. Also my 2x's grandfather (Alicia's son) Edward Herbert Mathias was born in Ceylon April 21, 1859 so I would like to know how to get his birth information.
