Hello Gillian and thank you for your reply.

I have an ancestor, John Lyford, who was a planter at Pusselawa in 1842 when Catherine Davidson married him.

I suppose you don't happen to know these names, or remember how many other coffee estates were at Pusselawa?

The other plantations our Davidson family worked were 'Fairyland' which is at Dodandura, near Galle and at some time they also planted at Horrogalla @ Elkadua, Kandewatta @ Matalla and Gollegodde @ Ballepitty.

I don't know whether I'll ever get to Sri Lanka, but I'll keep your message in case I ever visit there.
