Orcheston/Findlay mid 1800's

My research has led me to a James Orcheston Findlay born abt 1864 Ceylon. This info is from the 1891 census of England when he was a 27 year old Mercantile Clerk in Poplar London.

Does anybody have the resources or can tell me how to go about looking for his family records in Ceylon?

A post from another thread in 2000 shows a David Findlay dying in 1861 when his house collapsed and is found in the graveyard at Kandy.

In more recent years the family surname has been hyphenated to Orcheston-Findlay.

Any help in this search would be very much appreciated.

Shaun
