A complication to the enigma of Earl Sprout- Lydia may not have been his daughter at all, but his wife, born a Kennedy and not the other way round. There still isn't much to go on, so more evidence is needed either way. I do have a death record- 3 August 1823. Does anyone have access to a local newspaper of that time, which might mention his death?
