Dear Ivan
I found this web page, and I have learned a lot of information.
I am a Springsted on my father's side, and I wanted to comment about your cousin's Don and Tom who did family research in 1978. I think this is the same Tom Springstead that is related to my father, Tom. He also sent us the information he acquired, however, as far as we knew, he only got back as far as the 1700's. Do you have any information on why there are two spellings (sted, and stead)? My great grandfather was named Webster Springsted and I think Tom Springstead(your cousin) is a grandson of his brother. Anyway, most of my father's family came from Michigan.
I would love any information you have regarding our family.
Thank You
Angela Finn(Springsted)
