"Solomon Langston Springfield and Catherine Bradley Springfield
Solomon Langston, s/o Thomas and Laodicea (Dicey) Langston Springfield was b. 1807 and d. 1842.Solomon m. Catherine Bradley d/o Aquilla & Mary (Polly) Turner; Acquilla was bro. of John Bradley who m. his wife's sister Judith Turner.
After her husband's death, Catherine purchased the north part of Land Lot No. 327, 12th Dist from James M. Green. Witnesses on the deed were her daughter and son-in-law James and Cordelia Ann Bridges.Cordelia later m. John Holland.Catherine d. Chattanooga, TN, 1891; the Springfield ch. were:
1)Cordelia (Delia) Ann b. 1830 m. 1) James Bridges and 2) John Holland, s/o Jacob and Esther Holland.Delia and James Bridges had 2 ch:Andrew Jackson Bridges and Mary Catherine Bridges.I have no records for either of these ch.Delia and John Holland had 4 ch:James Franklin, John H., Augustus Ephraim and Cordelia.

3)Mary B. born 1834 m. Zephaniah Anderson in Blount Co AL
4)Henry B. b. 1837 m. Mary Ann Alford.He d. 1886 in Hamilton Co TN.

6)Hiram Jasper b. 1841 m. Mary C. Mosteller. Married 2) Joisey L. Simpson and then m. 3) Mary E. C. Franklin.H. J. d. 1906 in Chattanooga, Hamilton Co, TN.

(selected data here jaw)Bennett Springfield was b. March 20, 1806, to Thomas and Dicey (Langston) Springfield; his given name honored his maternal grandmother Sarah Bennett, who m. Solomon Langston.Bennett in Murray Co first purchased land in 1839.When Whitfield Co was carved from Murray (after 1850 jaw)a portion of his land lay in Whitfield Co.He farmed this land until 1863 when he purchased a parcel of land at the foot of Ft. Mountain, which is now the City of Chatsworth (county seat since 1913 of Murray Co jaw).Shortly after moving to this land, he gave land for the first chool to be built in the settlement.Bennett Springfield was married twice and had 10 ch by each wife.There are records of only two sons remaining in Murray Co - James Bennett and Thomas Springfield, both of whom served in the Confederate Army.
James Bennett Springfield acquired his father's estate after his death and farmed it until he sold the holdings to the Chatsworth Land Company for the building of a new city (Chatsworth) shortly before his death.
