You may try to locate a book that was publised in either 2000 till 2002 by an Ann Pollard. My brother has a copy and I will try to borrow his, to see if it has any info, I believe this will be the best source, as it is 2 volumes and several decades in the research. I also have a contact in Texas.
that I know of your Bennett went by his given name. I live only about an hour from Murray co. ga. Your Bennett was the father of my William H. your Bennett was also my great-great-great grandfather. Here is my line:
