I can verify for you that my relatives did come West to Texas. There is a very rich history in the Cooke County, Marysville and Gainsville, Texas, all the counties around it starting with "Dock" William Thomas Springfield moving from birth in Georgia in 1852 to Texas. In Oct. 18,1883 w/ b. William Preston Springfield and w/ my grandfather Preston Wesley Springfield in Oklahoma in Marietta, Love Co. Oklahoma then back to Texas.
Gainsville, Texas is on the TX/OK border on I-35.

Any one who can offer additional info specifically on the Springfield line would be greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know Thomas / Marth ...Springfield's maiden name?
