Hi Todd, I agree that these two "ancestors" are a real pain, but as you say most people can't go back that far anyway, we're just lucky that they were 'Landed Gentry' and are part of the History of England. When I learn how to use it I will burn a CD of the whole of what I have gleaned from the IGI etc and added to the basic tree. My basic was prepared, as I said about 1920 but at some time it has been retyped in California because it gives dates in US format I have corrected this in the copy you now have - it kept confusing me! when I get the CD done and you get to go through it, read all the notes appended to some of the people as circa the Civil War here the Springetts were I think very well connected with Cromwell's lot and Charles II AND James II and also with the members of the Royal Society. I suspect they were "playing all sides against the middle" at the time. some were Members of Parliament, others Lawyers, still others Ministers of religion or Commissioner of Customs & Excise. through Giulielma's mother there are connections to 'Samuel Pepys', the Lord Mayor of London and the Lieutenant of the Tower of London!
