Springer/Hanna/Wolf /Nolan Washington Co. MD
Do you know anything about Andrew Hanna b. abt 1841/1844 Maryland.?????
Andrew married Rebecca Wolf, daughter of Martin and Elizabeth (SPRINGER) Wolf..
Elizabeth Springer is thought to been born Hagerstown, MD abt. 1820.
Andrew and Rebecca had 6 children and were living Cavetown, Washington County Maryland 1870/1880.
Rebecca left Andrew, taking the children about 1883..Apparently Rebecca married again because the children were raised with surname Nolan. She died 1911 in Kansas City, MO.
Two of the older sons went to visit their father in Maryland (I think Hagerstown) to learn Andrew had died of a broken heart.(probably before 1900)
For unknown reason, younger Nolan generations were told their ancestor was Andrew Nolan, with no mention of Hanna.
Andrew Hanna's youngest son, Ed Nolan sent money to Springer family to help settle a Hanna estate. This went on for long time until Ed quit sending the money..Ed's children remembered their mother not being pleased with Ed sending money..Ed told his oldest daughter that he was born Hanna but adopted by wealthy Nolan family.. but her siblings wouldn't accept it as fact. The Nolan children denied a connection to Hanna and one older brother of Ed, wrote and notarized (1941) a handwritten statement that Ed was born to Andrew Nolan and Rebecca Wolf..
Obviously all six children are Andrew Hanna's since they were all together 1870/1880..Why it was kept a family secret will always be a mystery...Hopefully we can find parents for Andrew Hanna and parents for Elizabeth (Springer) Wolf.. There has to be a connection between these Washington County Maryland families..
I have picture of Rebecca & husband.. said to be Nolan grandparents.I have no clue if the man is Nolan or Hanna..The picture belonged to Rebecca's youngest son, and then his oldest daughter, who passed it on to her son.
Thank you for your consideration and time in reading my quest for Hanna/Springer answers..
