SPRING AMONG THE CHOCTAW
CHRISTIAN SPRING was a white resident among the Choctaws, and was a blacksmith in Ashuckwas in Moshulatubbe's District in 1831. His household consisted of four persons, including four males over 16. He was allowed 320 acres by the 1830 treaty ( which meant that he had a Choctaw wife). He is listed on the 1830 census of Simpson County, Mississippi and shown as being between 20 - 30 years of age.
