Devin,
I have several dates of birth for Matilda, not sure which is correct, 1842, 1845,1849, 1850. Dates of death are 1910, and 1930.
I have seen posts that she is the daughter of Ebenezer SPRIGGS 1814-1854, and Nancy Dever 1825-1880
I have that she married Asa Nance in 1864, Asa's date of birth 1838, and death 1872.
I have found these children born to her and Asa Nance: Elizabeth Jane 1865-1889
Phillip Sheridan 1868
Albert Martin 1872-1918
When Matilda married Eli Crabtree in 1872, she became step-mother to his children:
Richard Dixon Crabtree 1858-1937
John W. Crabtree 1863-1941
Robert L. Crabtree 1866-1935
Elizabeth Crabtree 1867
Their mother was Cansada SPRIGGS, who died in the early 1870's. I have wondered if Cansada SPRIGGS, and Matilda SPRIGGS were sisters.
Matilda SPRIGGS Nance and Eli Crabtree then had the following children:
Albert 1872
Cora B. 1873-1918
Joseph Marion 1876
George Elsworth 1878-1962
Charles G. 1882-1955
Rachel Daisy 1885-1923
These people lived in Jackson County Ohio, in Scioto and Jefferson Twp. Although I see conflicting dates on births and deaths, I am certain that they are referring to the same people.
