Hi!
Do you happen to know if any members of this family made their way to the Goochland County area of Va. c1730? I have found a Thomas Sprigg and a Robert Wade in Goochland by 1729. Robert witnessed deed for Joseph Ballinger in Va 1729. Robert owned land in Goochland and Hanover County, Va. There is also a James Wade at that time. I also have a Pierce Wade who married Mary, daughter of Joseph Ballinger and is wife, Charity Wade.
Joseph was born in NJ. Parents were Quakers in Burlington. He and two of his brothers moved to MD. The brothers stayed and Joseph moved on to VA. He left Quaker faith and became minister for the Church of England.
Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Connie
