I was told the same thing by someone else a few years ago and that Elizabeth Spraggins Turner of Newberry, S.C., was born in Maryland before the family moved to Halifax Co., Virginia. John Turner was from Maryland, too. William and Martha (Abney) Spraggins also had a son Thomas Spraggins who married his cousin Maacha Abney and had William Spraggins (1767-1824) who died in Abbeville Dist, SC. This William was said to have married his cousin Nancy Abney (born 1767 in Edgefield Dist., SC). I wonder if Orasmus or Orsamus could be another son of Thomas and Maacha or whether some of their other sons moved to S.C. also.
