Hi Barbara, I've just found your posting and was saddened to hear of this genetic trait, the first time I've heard of it. My great grandmother's mother was Sarah Frances Sport, b. about 1857, (married Andrew Jackson Hardage) and daughter of WILLIAM SPORT, b. about 1822, of Crenshaw CO, AL. Is this part of your line? I can't seem to find anyone in the following generations; maybe you've explained that in this message.
Thanks very much!
Shirley
