I have started looking into my family history but not the side of the Sports. I know my great great grandparents were Sports. Here is alittle bit of information I have and if anybody would like to share I would love to hear from you.
William Bogan Sports --Civil War
his wife Sarah Susannah Taylor
They were members at Liberty Church, Mars Bluff (Marion SC)1840
I don't know which one or both were American Indian descent. I have reasons to suspect William and maybe Sarah were also of Jewish descent. I understand there are a few med. dieases in that area that run in families. I was told the name Sport(s) in NOT the real name and that it was changed for a reason. I was told some people think it sounded like Sport(s) but nobody knows who came up with that idea.
One of William and Sarah's children was my
gg-grandfather Joseph Sports.
