Hi-

I have some information for you- My ancestor, William Spore, was the brother of your Celinda. He also lived at Rising Sun, IN. After going to CA and to NV to work in the gold mining industry, he returned to IN. He and his family moved to Champaign County, IL. (Stanton Township- then later to Urbana).
His son, Dr. James D. Spore was a vet surgeon who specialized in horses. He evidently kept in touch with his cousin Jasper Hall, who lived in Homer.
In the newspaper "Sidney By-Way and Sidney Times" of Dec. 1890- "Jasper Hall will depart for Indy next Monday to visit his sister for x-mas. He will then go to Jefferson Co. to see his mother and before he returns, he will visit relatives in Jeffersonville, Ind."

14Nov 1890- Dr. J.D. Spore, vet surgeon of Urbana, was out to see his cousin Jasper Hall. While in Sidneym he engaged Charley Hess to paint his house in Urbana. Jasper Hall is getting to be quite a skilled vet surgeon, also at auctioneering."

Your relative, Ernest Thode's wife, Virginia (now deceased)- did quite a bit of research on this family and shared some information with me. I visited them a few times before Virginia died. I'm not sure if Ernest is still living- he was living in Tuscola, IL.

Virginia made me up a small folder with some family group sheets and a short history. I think she even included a few copies of some pictures- I'm thinking there could be a picture of Celinda and Martin Van Buren Hall, but can't quite recollect.
I'll look for that folder ASAP. I am having a total knee replacement August 5th, so I will be laid up for awhile.

Please e-mail me at Butzowfarm@aol.com and send me your mailing address so I can make some copies and send to you.

I don't live far from Homer, IL where your Halls lived.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Marguerite Butzow
