Well it depends on whose genealogy you want to believe. As you know there are disagreements as to who this William & Jane were and who their decendants are. But I believe I am a decendant as follows:

Edmond Pinkney & Priscilla Jane King Splawn
George Pinkney & Minnie Bell McDonald Splawn
Leo David & Bessie Victoria Finley Splawn
William Carlton & Helen Loriece Splawn
Nicki Jo Splawn Baca
My Splawn family history is unique in that my mom and dad were both Splawns. This is actually my mom's side of the family.
You are right, I would never have found it, because it is very well hidden in the forest. The man who took me there says there are no houses up there anymore, just a fireplace is still standing where one house was and he showed me that.
