Sharon,
John and Eve also had a son Jesse born in 1834 in Pa. He did have a younger brother named William. The John of my Spitler line, lived in Jo-Davies County, Ill according to the 1860 census. In this census John's wife was named Eva. Their Ill. township was Stockton. I do not know if John left Ill. or died there. Jesse married Hulda Hayes, and had, I believe nine children. One of these children was my great grandfather, also named John. Jesse moved from Ill to Iowa, and he settled there in the 1870's.
I am not sure of John's parents, or where they originated. I would appreciate any information.
I am not sure if John stopped in Ohio. Spitler seems to be a popular name in Ohio and Virginia.
Jerry
