Jerry, Good to hear from you and I am so excited to find a link to my Spires Line. It's really been hard tracing them. My great grandfather was James Albert Spires born to Charles and Mary Ann Spires. There were several siblings too but I can't think of the name right now. James Albert Spires birthdate has been recorded from 1828 to about 1835. I believe the 1835 is closer. He was first married to Frances Smith and they are in Alabama in either 1860 from what I remember. Then he was found in a census as widowed (either Lawrence or Franklin County AL) with children. He married Nancy Raines (neighbor) and they ended up in Lauderdale County Alabama. My grandmother Ida Spires is from the second marriage. I have found one connection to his son William Hanfort Spires from the first marriage. I have a picture of James Albert Spires and one of his second wife Nancy Raines Spires.
