I see by your message that you are working on an official history and your looking for info on Anna Spink and her mother Roxana Barrus Spink. I have seen where many people indicate that Roxana was married to Solomon Lewis Spink. I believe that this is not correct.
Roxana Barrus was the daughter of William Barrus and Polly Puffer. Her mother Polly Puffer Barrus died and William remarried to Sally Gregory Spink the widow of Hall Spink and mother of Salmon Spink. That made Roxana and Salmon step-siblings. Roxana and Salmon Spink married and did have a daughter Anna D. Spink. Salmon's graandmother was Delight Clothier Spink so the D. in Anna D.'s name could be Delight but I've not found that. Salmon Spink died in Wisconsin in April of 1850 leaving Roxana with three children.
Roxana can be found in the 1850 Dane Co., Wis. census living next door to another step-brother Edwin Spink. Salmon is already dead and she has three children, Anna D., Hall, and Ezra. In the 1860 Dane Co., Wis. census Roxana has remarried to John Laughlin (Apr. 12, 1852) and Anna and Ezra are still with her. By 1870 she is still in Wisconsin, no John in the house anymore but she is listed as Roxina Laughlin with her son Ezra.
You can see by the census alone that Roxana Spink was not at anytime the wife of Solomon Lewis Spink. The estate papers of William Barrus in Dane Co., Wisconsin, 1860, shows Roxana Loflin as his heir establishing that her maiden name was Barrus. A land deed in Winnebago Co, Ill. August 13, 1846 between Salmon Spink, his wife Roxana and a Ezra Vernay establishes the marriage of Salmon and Roxana.
I don't know if this has been of any help but I really think that there are some questions that need clarified about any possible marriage between Solomon Spink and Roxana. And I hope that you will not use unverified information in any kind of an official history.
