SPINK in Birmingham England. 1800 - 1900

I am new to this Forum and I am just posting my general interest.

My maternal Grandmother was Emma Jane SPINK, born 4 of May 1894 to a Lewis or Louis John SPINK and a Clara SPINK nee HALL. I have 6 other siblings listed, at least two of whom where born before the 1901 census, Pricilla and Arthur but I can find no trace of them on the 1901 Census.

Only my grandmother is listed with her parents living at 5 Poplar Terrace, Nechells Park Road, Aston.

The only Marriage I can find for Lewis is in 1890, I am having difficulties tying it into to Clara.

I believe Lewis's father was Edwin SPINK born about Nov 4th 1822 and married to Mary Ann GRANT? in June Quarter 1852. In 1851 Census I have Edwin as a Police Constable and with an address as the Public Office, Moor Street Birmingham.

By the time of the 1881 Census he is a widower, living at 48 Nechells Place and working as a Stoker & Engine Driver

Edwin's parents are Epenetus SPINK (what a great name) and Mary?

If you have any connection to any of the above I would love to hear from you

Kind Regards

(Researching SAGE, PRATT & KINGSCOTE 18th / 19th C. Gloucestershire
and now SPINK & EDWARDS in Warwickshire!!)
