hello! i think it's absolutly possible. my ancestors spilmann/spillmann were christians but there is a very old spielmann jewish family in elsass near ribeauvillé. when you say orally spilmann or spielmann with german or eslsass accent it's "schpilman", "ch"++ so it's possible when someone go to live in an other région of france like paris that the way to write the name had changed. but it's possible too that this name had always been writen like that! i don't know! i will have a look about a schpilman(n) family in france and i will tell you later. bye melissa Notify Administrator about this message?
