While trying to find some of my MASSEY ancestors, someone suggested that perhaps this Thomas' first wife was Mildred MASSEY, daughter of Martha and Lovell MASSEY. Thomas' brother, Wm. Spilman, married another of Martha & Lovell MASSEY's daughters, Frances MASSEY.

I am trying to place Robert MASSEY, father of Mary MASSEY, who married "Young Tom" Thomas SPILMAN. I thought Robert's parents were Eleanor PERENDOR/BUNBURY and Thomas MASSEY, but it appears they were not. It certainly seems possible to me that since Lovell MASSEY had a son named Robert, that it might be this Robert MASSEY, and that Thomas SPILMAN Young Tom) married his first cousin, Mary MASSEY.

Does anyone have any information on this? I have never known Thomas' (son of Wm. and Margaret) first wife's name. I know his second wife was Elizabeth who married John ATWOOD after Thomas died.

I would like to hear from some descendants of these folks and let me know what you think. clarksha@swbell.net
