I have documentation that John Spiller, who married Catherine Marquis, a widow, was born in Virginia in 1741. His remains were either buried on the family farm near Port Homer, Ohio or else in the Sugar Grove Cemetery near there. No readable marker could be found so the SAR put a bronze plaque there in 2006 to honor is service in the Washington Co. Militia.

John Spiller is my 3rd Great Grandfather. I am descended through his son from his first wife, Rachel Jackson Spiller.

I have much more info if you would like.
