Warrenton K Spiller I 1709
Hello Barb from the Great White North-Alberta, Canada
My name is Alan Spiller and mu sister Gail and I are descendents of the William Warrington King Spiller clan.
1st Generation: According to our records William Spiller, born about 1669, Robertson, Tennessee, married Lucy King, born about 1669, Robertson, Tennessee.
2nd Generation: They had a son Warrington King Spiller I, born 1709, Robertson, Tennessee, died about 1756, married Lydia Moore, born 1713, Robertson, Tennessee.
3rd Generation: They had a son Warrenton King Spiller II (twin, spelling of name somehow was changed at this time from Warrington to Warrenton) born 1735, Virginia, married Leanne Nicholals born about 1739, Robertson, Tennessee.
4th Generation: They had a son Warrenton King Spiller III, born December 22, 1779, Robertson, Tennessee, died September 19, 1853, married (1813) Celia Boren, born March 8, 1796, Tennessee, died November 28, 1871.
5th Generation: They had a son, Ethelbert Claiborne Spiller, born 1815, Tennessee, died August 6, 1863, married Elizabeth Hundley, born December 25, 1822, Tennessee, died January 1, 1901, Missouri.
6th Generation: They had a son Robert Willis Spiller born November 7, 1860, Marion, Illinois, died February 8, 1897, Ravenden Springs, Arkansas, married Margaret Ann Cox (who we believe was part Seminole Indian?) born February 5, 1865, Marion, Illinois, died July 29, 1939, Detroit, Michigan.
7th Generation: They had a son Elbert Cecil Spiller (our grandfather) born 1889, Herrin, Illinois, died July 1977, Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, married Louise Mable Treece, born March 30, 1890, Wolf Creek, Illinois, died 1955, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
8th Generation: Theye had five children, one of which was our father Rolla "Cecil" Spiller, born January 26, 1912, Calgary, Alberta Canada, died December 25, 1997, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Our grandmother Louise Mable Treece had 2 sisters and a brother. One of her sisters (I believe her name was Lilian) was married to a Childers - name unknown. They had a daughter Grace who came to live with my father and grandparents for a year in July 1919 while her mother was in hospital. She later became Grace Cassidy and wrote an article about her trip to Canada which appeared in the magazine "The West", September 1970 issue. Our grandparents came to Canada at the turn of the century and ran an Indian Trading Post about 70 miles southeast of Calgary, next to the Cluny Indian Reserve. They sold it and moved to Penticton, British Columbia, Canada in 1921 where they owned a fruit farm for many years. They separated in the 1930s and each remarried. We would certainly enjoy hearing from any of our relatives: Spillers, Childers or Treece's. If you would like more information about our family, please let us know.
