My g.g.grandparents were Dennis Spillane & Annastasia Hickey also believed to be (but not confirmed) from Cork. Their son, my g.grandfather Philip, b.abt.1840 first shows up in Matteawan, NY in 1863. I don't know if he had any brothers, but he did have a sister, Mary. His oldest son, William b.7/27/1866, moved to Phila. in abt.1901, married Mary O'brien there in 1902 and lived at 901 Somerset St. There may be some connection here. Does the name "Hickey" mean anything to you?
