You come from the SW part of Penn. Louis Christopher apparently lived in Shanksville, Somerset Co. Cannot find a birth, marriage or death record for him! Apparently he came from a large family -- I'm hoping to find descendants from brothers or sisters to verify who his parents were. Censuses spell the surname various ways -- most often Speicher. I have no idea if or when he may have changed the spelling. Glad to know that there are indeed others who spell it Spiecher. Some years back my husband and I spent a week on Somerset Co. looking for information. Found the Sivits butno luck with the Spiecher line. Found some Speicher burials but haven't tied them in to our family. I've only been working on this line about 20 years -- very frustrating! Keep in touch.
