Indian Census records and WWI Draft registration cards from ancestry.com shows Jasper Lemuel or Lemuel Jasper Spicer listed on his draft card as 1/2 Indian, living on the Seneca Indian Quapaw Rservation near Wyandotte, Ottowa, Oklahoma. His father is in the household, a James J. Spicer.b 1867...so far I've found sisters for Lemuel, named Ethel Lucinda Spicer b 1892, Evaline Spicer b 1898 and Georgia Spicer b 1900. Lemuel Jasper Spicer married into my Shadrach/Shadrick family...married in Creek Co OK to Nelly M Shadrach (a family line from NC and VA which I suspect were on the Trail of Tears)...does anyone know Lemuel's mother and/or if Lemuel's native ancestry came from his mother or father's family or both? Is it true that this would indicate that Lem's wife, Nellie is also Indian? Does anyone know if thei means that Lem was of the Seneca or could he be of a different Indian ancestry? I suspect my Shadrachs were Cherokee or Creek. Thanks for all Debbie Wood deborahwood@switched.com Notify Administrator about this message?
