My Spiby family comes from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, England. My great- great Grandfather John Spiby (born 1843) married Ann Hewerdine (born abt 1843) and together had 5 children:
Mary Spiby born 1875
Sarah Spiby born Sept 1877
Elizabeth (Spiby) Bucklar born abt 1880 (came to US in 1920's)
Clara (Spiby) Kenney born abt 1883 (came to US in 1909)
Ernest Spiby born abt 1885.
Ann died and John married Sarah Ann Pick (born bet 1853-1855) in 1886. They had 4 children:
Harriett Spiby born abt 1888
John Spiby born abt 1890 (died about 1918)
Horace Spiby born Aug 1, 1892 (my great grandfather - came to US in 1913)
Dorothy Spiby born Nov 10, 1893.
John Spiby's parents were John Spibey (born 1801) and Jane Pickard. They were married on March 1, 1830 and had the following children:
Sarah Spiby born bef Dec 19, 1830
Thomas Spiby born bef Sept 22, 1833
Benjamin Spiby born bef Nov 8, 1835
Mary Spiby born abt 1839 (married James Spurr)
John Spiby born bef Oct 15, 1843
William Spiby born abt 1849
