I am seeking information regarding the following names found in a letter dated 23 July 1911 written by Eli H. Spenser of Wheeling, Indiana to his nephew by marriage Edward Routh Gibson living in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Eli H. Spenser -m- Mary Gibson, d/o Archelaus Gibson and Mary Moon. Mary Gibson was a sister to Levi L. Gibson b. 1830, OH. Levi -m- Eliza Jane Noble 1849. Levi's first born child was Edward Routh Gibson b. Nov. 3, 1849 OH.
Eli's letter to Edward reads,
" Edward, I would be pleased if you would give me the names of all your brothers and sisters and there addresses and I will send you the names of your cousins of your aunt's family and there addresses. Here they are, Mary Ellen Ackerman Oct. 23, 1850, Surilda Jane Kirkpatrick Sept. 10, 1852 Eaton, Nancy Alice Dunn deceased Dec. 4, 1874, John Carman June 28, 1857 dead, Louisa Olive Fisher (Sept. 1st?) 1858 Eaton, Priscilla Eviline Richards Oct. 19, 1860 Wheeling, Sarah Elizabeth Smith Jan. 18, 1863, Edna May Freemaze Feb. 24, 1865 post Allegany, Pa., Martin Luther Spenser April 25, 1867 Holly, Colo., George Elsa Spenser Nov. 25, 1869 Wheeling, Archelaus Hubert/Herbert? Spenser July 7, 1872 a rover address not known, Anna Bertha June 1, 1867 Pau, Ind..
Mary Ellen (Ackerman) address Quitman, Mo.? Ms.?, Surilda Jane and Louisa Olive's address Eaton, Ind. Sarah Elizabeth Kokomo, Ind R.R. 2 #5."
I am not certain all of the above were children of Eli Spenser and Mary Gibson. Some may have been Mary's and her brother Levi's nieces and nephews by other siblings of theirs. I need help placing these people into their immediate family.
