I am looking for any information as to where I can find references to James Spencer b. 1835 Haddam, Middlesex County, New York, d. 1805 NY, m. Ann…….? They moved to Yates County, New York in the early 1800s. They had 12 children, Martin, Truman, David, Elijah, Abner, Justus, Simeon, Rhoda, Lovina, Anna, & Angelina. The father, James had a sister, Sarah Spencer who married Ephraim Kidder and also moved to Yates County, New York in the early 1800s.

James also fought in the American Revolution.

Are there any good books or other sources that reference this family line, especially through his son Martin who married Sybil Richmond on through their daughter Eliza Ann Spencer who married Henry Hicks. Their daughter Mary Elizabeth Hicks married Andrew Foster Chapman in May of 1847 in Benton, Yates County, New York. From this point on, I have good documentation to me. I have reference to this line from James Spencer without any dates in, “The History of Yates County, New York” by Stafford C. Cleveland printed in 1873.

I would appreciate any help here and I will certainly share what I have.
