I, too, am interested in finding my Indian heritage, but it seems to be different than yours. My ggrandmother Elizabeth Rice, married to John Calvin Spencer, was alleged to be a full blood Cherokee. according to tales i heard from older relatives including a grandmother on my maternal side. Elizabeth's brother Tom Rice (Bitterrice) was reported to be the Indian who held the horses for the robber Jessie James gang while they were plying their trade.
I do have 2 pictures of him. This would have taken place in Missouri, and he was later 'relocated' to Arkansas by the govt. I would appreciate any information anyone has on this relative. habbudha@aol.com
