William Lafayett Spencer born 1861 married Jennie Bell Shelton born 1856 in Carroll County MS 8 October 1884 in Carroll Co., MS. They were the parents of a son named Willie and a daughter named Irby per census records. You can find the marriage records on ancestry.com.
I don't know where the name "Lafayett" originated in the family. There was a Lafayett of France who played an important part in the revolution of America from England almost a hundred years before this time but I don't know whether that had any bearing on the name used here.
