Hello Jerry. Now let me get this all straight. Your saying that William L. Spencer bn 1861 md Jennis (1854) but we don't know maiden name. anyway your saying that that Williams second name is LaFayett. and that he is son of William and Ara Bella Spencer, who (according to book - Desc. of William Spencer) who was son of Henry Branson Spencer, who was son of Elijah (the courthouse burner). Is this right? Well this is a big help. I didn't have any of Lafeyetts wife and kids. I have been trying to figure out where my Grandfather Earl "Lafeyett" Spencer got his middle name. He was son of Albert Louis Spencer, who was son of Robert,Robertson,Robinson, Spencer who was son of Elijah (Courthouse burner). So still do you have a clue as to where they might have come up with the middle name Lafayett?
