maybe you can help me with my Spencer family, any gudiance here is appreciated! I've yet to discover their parent's. But hopeful that someone is missing two brother's...I've not alot to go by and the only info here is from the 1900 census Ind Terr/Ok. JOHN Edward SPENCER b:1878 Ind.Terr/Ok lived in Choctaw Nation...town of Indianola it's location I believe is north of McAlester. John married Martha A. POTTS in 1901 in that same area. J E Spencer was listed on the 1900 census as a laborer with a GIBSON family. I never found Martha on the 1900 census..But I found her brother John E. Potts in the same area and just above him was another Spencer family THOMAS SPENCER b:1876 unknown place of birth & wife Lletta b:1878 AL,and daug Josephine Spencer b:1898 Ind Terr. I feel almost certain that Thomas & John Spencer were brother's..But proving it remains!..I haven't been able to find Thomas Spencer's family aft 1900. I'm serching for these two brother's on any 1880 census, both probably born in Ind Terr...I guess it's possible that their living with the Indian's..could be on Indian Roll's that I haven't been able to check-out! But also Thinking maybe there's a Spencer family somewhere in Oklahoma are Ar near the Pott's family..the old adage..birds of a feather flock together!. Hoping that their birth order 1876 & 1878 would fit are fill the gap of another Spencer family?...The Pott's were from Franklin Co, Arkansas 1850-1880's. I've resently discovered that J.E.POTT'S was A Minister of The Gospel..A Missionary Baptist of Spencerville,Choctaw Co,OK...and had preformed several marriage's there.. WHOM was Spencerville named after..and ALSO the Spencer Academy named after..and when was it founded?..it appears that these Spencer's were also in are near that same general area too!...Who are their Parent's? Anyone able to help me here?..Thanks
