I am also researching the Spencer line in what is now Penobscot County. There seems to be two major lines of Spencers in Penobscot County. Both settled a bit north of Bangor on the Penobscot River.
1.Thomas, Moses, Isaac, Moses, Daniel, (my line)
They settled in Bradley (adjacent to Eddington)
2.Thomas, Moses, Moses, Freathy, Nathaniel
They settled in Eddington and the Argyle (just north of Old Town) area.
Many of the children of both families had several common names that makes them difficult to trace (Moses, Daniel, Nathaniel, John, etc.)
Thelma D'Euteil has written a book called "The Penobscot Spencers" that has sorted out many of them.Copies are available in the Maine State Library, Bangor Public Library.
My Daniel had a son Daniel, who married Ruth Spencer (daughter of Isaac Spencer and Lucy Patten). They also had a son Daniel.
