Hi Cousin, *smile*
Thanks for your reply. Yes, this is my line.
Thomas, born 1762, is my 4th great grandfather. I have not seen any reference before to what his middle initial, "B." stood for. I'm very interested to know where you found that it was 'Bolton'.
You seem certain that Elizabeth Perkins was Thomas's second wife.
The reason I ask is that I have seen his name linked with hers before, but have never seen proof that she was his wife. I know that A Thomas Spencer married An Elizabeth Perkins, but I've also found the following:
From Journal of the Greenbrier Historical Society:
Greenbrier VA Marriage Book I shows:
Thomas Spencer marr Elizabeth ParkerOct 6, 1787 *
From Rev. John Alderson's Marriage Record 1776-1798 in Greenbrier, Botetourt and Rockingham Counties of VA:
Thomas Spencer marr Mary EvisonMar 1, 1780
Thomas Spencer marr Elizabeth Perkins Oct 6, 1786 *
Do you have proof that it was our Thomas Spencer that married Elizabeth Perkins? I have very little on him.
Also, have you found a tombstone for her? (You have her birth and death dates.)
BTW, I'm descended from his daughter, Susan, born Oct 31, 1810 in Greenbrier Co, VA (now WV).
