Thomas Spencer, Sr. and his wife, Elizabeth Julia Flournoy (d/o John James and Elizabeth (Williams) Flournoy), had the following children:
1. Mary Spencer b. 20 Oct 1742, m. James Speed
2. Sion Spencer b. 12 April 1744, m. Mary Harris
3. John Spencer b. 16 December 1745, m. Sally Watkins of Powhatan County
4. Elizabeth Julia Spencer b. 18 June 1747, m. Henry Speed (brother of the above James)
5. Ann Spencer b. 13 July 1749, m. John Martin
6. Thomas Spencer, Jr. b. 1751, m. (1) Sally Watkins and (2) Lucy Watkins, sisters from Dinwiddie County

This info from Genealogies of Virginia Families, vol. 5, p. 125 (reprinted from Virginia Magazine, I don't have the exact citation). I am descended from Mary Spencer and James Speed.
I have never been able to connect Thomas Spencer of Charlotte to any of the other Spencers in Va., which makes me wonder whether he was an immigrant from either England or one of the other colonies. Does anyone out there know?
