Hi ...... William Spence was born in 1884 in Manchester. He was the son of William Spence and Sarah (nee Cooper). He had a younger brother and 4 sisters, 3 of whom were born in Glasgow. I am descended from his brother, Charles. He was referred to, by the family, as 'Billy'. Stories told indicated that he went to the Midlands, in the late 19th century or early 20th, and travelled between villages with a horse and cart selling household goods. I have a photograph which shows my grandfather, Charles, with a man I think is William. With them are a woman and a baby that I think may be William's wife and child.
If any of this rings any bells with anyone I'd love to know where he went to and if anyone is descended from him.
