Hopton Spell, Sampson Co? need info on him

I'm related to the Spells of Sampson Co., NC. Have traced my mother's side back to a Hopton Spell married to Elsie Faircloth. They had a daughter named Rachel C. Spell (b. 1858) who married Council Lee Faircloth.

I have not been able to find any more information on Hopton Spell. No census info found so far. If anyone has any information on this line of the Spells, please email me at skirchdo@excite.com.
