Hi:

To those of you working on the Speir line. I may be able to offer some assistance. I have a Carroll Co., MS History & Families Book borrowed from my parents. The Speir & Thompson families & some other connecting lines are in detail. Also, can put you in touch with a desc. of Rosannah Speir & William Thompson, Jr. This Rosannah was a grdaughter of John Speir, "The Schoolmaster" and Christian Benton Speir of Edgecombe Co., NC. The book states hasn't been proven which of John Speir's sons was her father. According to rootsweb, there is only one submitter working on the line of Rosannah. He has her father as Harris. This book as John & Christian's sons as John, Jr., Harris, Benton & Phillip.

I plan to print out all the pgs. dealing with Speir, Thompson, Pittman and other connecting lines and scanning into system which will take some time, but am willing to share with you 4 or 5.
