The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Saturday, March 10, 1879 LINCOLN TOWNSHIP NEWS: Editor Leader. -- It is with regret that we pick up your interesting paper, even some of its choicest issues, when the thriving portion of our township is not occasionally represented by a correspondent. The spring has come and almost gone without anything of a startling nature in our midst, but on Tuesday afternoon of this week, our corner was shaken to its foundation by S.D. RODDY and MISS JANE DUFF, setting sail on the sea of matrimonial bliss. We bespeak for them a long life of prosperity, may the stars of their destiny ever shine bright, and when mortality shall assume its immortality may their bliss be renewed in a purer and better world than this. MR. JAMES SPEERS, one of Lincoln Tp's. illustrious pedagogues, has of late been receiving the compliments of his many friends, owing to the fact that a bouncing girl recently put in an appearance at his ranch, which has slightly increased the family circle, very much to the satisfaction of the parties concerned. Our school is prospering under the efficient managment of MISS MARY E. CURRY, daughter of MR. JAMES CURRY, one of our thrifty enterprising farmers, sorghum manufacturer and business man generally. -- ARFORD. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert March 31, 2004 http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialucas Notify Administrator about this message?
