Looks like you're a relative. I've been looking for Speed descendants in order to fill in any blanks I might have.

My Great-Great-Great Grandfather was Francis Marion Speed married to Mary Elizabeth Lyon. Miller Speed is my Great-Great Grandfather, brother to your Great-Grandfather Joseph Marion Speed. I have Roland Miller Speed listed as one of six children of Joe and Goldie Thomas Speed.

There has been one thing bugging me lately. What do you know about Dale (Speed or Thomas)? He suppossedly is an older brother to your Roland but appears to be born before Joe and Goldie were even married. He is found to be listed as Dale Thomas in the 1925 Iowa Census. When both Joe and Goldie died, neither obit lists him as their son. However, Roland's obit does as Dale Thomas living in Sandusky, Ohio.

I would also love to find any info you might have on the Speed family. Different branches of the family inherit different family heirlooms and info.

Please e-mail me at if interested.
