I have very little information regarding my Speed ancestors.
They are from Harston (approx 5 miles from Hinxton - I think). This is what I have...(Dates are approx.)
Edward Speed b. 1756 Harston, Cambridgeshire d. 1821 Harston, Cambridgeshire
m. 1803 Harston, Cambridgeshire
Keziah Gates b. 1783 Harston, Cambridgeshire (later married Mead)
Children:
John Speed b. 1805 Harston, Cambridgeshire d. 1897 Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia
There may be other children...
John Speed (child of above) m. 1831 Barrington, Cambridgeshire
Eliza Bird b. 1812 Barrington, Cambridgeshire d. 1886 Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
Children:
John Speed b. 1831 (England?)
Eliza b. 1836 (England?)
Elizabeth Ann b. 1838 (England?)
Harriett b. 1839 (England, Cambridgeshire - based on marriage certificate) (d. USA?)
Edwin b. 1860 (Australia?)
May be other children these were mostly found from death registration...
Believe they came to Australia about 1854
