My branch of the Spearings comes from near Portsmouth in Hampshire - a village called Alverstoke. Some of them were married in Portsmouth and we have Charles's, Henrys and Williams in the family tree, but our Henry's father Edward moved to Westminster in the mid 1800s. His parents were another Edward Spearing and Ann Smith. Edward died at their home in Alverstoke and Ann moved to Westminster to join her son, but left other children behind in the Portsmouth area. Can you go any further back with your Charles Henry?
