Cook by Tom Speers of 1021 Isaak Cook Speers was married twice - there was no divorce. His first wife, Marie Monroe, died giving birth to his son, Carrol M. Speers (Mayor of San Mateo, CA.) Isaak remarried in 1894 to Elizabeth Root of Coldwater, Mi. They had two more sons, Roland Root and James Morton. The family moved to Santa Monica, CA in 1909.
