Ray, thank you so much for your reply. I'm interested in any other information you may have. I'm sure that William and Mary Ann were in Warren Twp. Marion Co., Missouri in 1860, and in Glenwood Twp. MO in 1870. There were also Spaws in IA, and William and Mary Ann lived there. There was a William who was born in PA and I think he's gotten confused with the KY born William. I also discovered this week that in 1860 Bradley and Eliza appear on 2 census--once in Keokuk IA with John and Hester Ashpaugh, and once in Marion Co. MO with William and Mary Ann Spaw.
As to Esther--there was an Esther Spaw who arrived on a convict ship from England. I found the listing in a book called Immigrants in Bondage or something similar. However, it states in the book that this was an alias--I believe her name was really Turner or Thatcher-will try to find it.
I'm hoping to discover where and when William and Mary Ann died. Have you looked for estate records? The MO census show that he had property, so somewhere there should be some land records or probate.--hope to hear more from you, and thanks again.
Kathy
